Bespoke Wire & Rope worked with Brand Architects to design and install a fully customised Flexi-mesh security screen for their new East Melbourne office. The project required adapting Flexi-mesh for use as a retractable barrier — an application not typical for the product. Through tailored engineering, we created a system that delivered both day-to-day flexibility and secure lock-off at night.

Our Scope
Bespoke designed, fabricated, and installed a custom retractable Flexi-mesh screen to provide a secure after-hours barrier while maintaining an open office layout during the day.
The solution combined a theatre curtain track, Vectran tensile rope, and a compound tensioning system, with a custom aluminium leading plate for daily operation. Staff could pull the screen into position, lock it off, and engage the pulley system to tension the bottom rope — preventing it from being lifted and securing the office. In the morning, the system could be released, the tension removed, and the mesh retracted into a purpose-built storage cupboard.
The screen was installed to:
