Pathway of Progress

A highly customised cable and artwork canopy installed for Georgia Tech. Precision rigging, international collaboration, and complex detailing brought this landmark project to life.

Pathway of Progress

Bespoke Wire & Rope collaborated with Arcus Wire Group and hamma Architectural Inc to deliver the installation of a large-scale cable and artwork canopy at Georgia Tech, Atlanta. The project involved international partners and demanded precision across every stage of engineering and installation.

Location: Georgia Tech, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Completion Date: December 2024

Client: Hamma Architectural Inc / Georgia Tech

Architect: Merica May Jenson, greymatters.

Our Scope

Bespoke supplied a site foreman and leading hand for the 11-week program, leading the local installation team in Atlanta. The scope included:

  • Coordinating with the American rigging company to install supporting columns

  • Working with Redaelli to install the high-tensile perimeter cables

  • Installing all edge clamps, with precise orientation and spacing critical for subsequent infill

  • Installing 3.5mm hamma Pro infill cables, each terminating on cross clamps to form the required diamond artwork pattern

  • Securing intersecting cables with cross clamps for rigidity and as fixing points for mirror-polished artwork tiles

  • Installing over 20 different artwork shapes in silver and gold finishes, with polished and textured surfaces, each aligned to exact plans

The installation was staged across extreme seasonal conditions, from 40°C heat in summer to sub-zero temperatures in winter. Despite these challenges, the Bespoke team delivered an exacting build that balanced engineering requirements with the artistic vision.

The system was installed to:

  • Deliver a landmark canopy for the Georgia Tech campus

  • Provide structural precision for a complex artwork installation

  • Support international collaboration across multiple partners

  • Showcase Bespoke’s capability to lead on globally significant projects

This project demonstrates Bespoke’s expertise in high-profile, highly detailed architectural installations.
