Trellis System,
Lygon Street Apartments VIC
Custom vertical cable green wall installed at Korowa Anglican Girls School, creating a living façade that enhances the rooftop environment.
Trellis System,
Lygon Street Apartments VIC
Bespoke Wire & Rope was engaged by Cobild, Milieu, and Fieldwork Architects to design and install a trellis system for Lygon Street Apartments in Brunswick. The system included internal cables spanning slab-to-slab across the central void and external trellises fixed to the façade, providing long-term support for climbing plants to establish across the building.
Location: 121 Lygon St, Brunswick VIC
Completion Date: June 2023
Client: Milieu
Builder: Cobild
Architect: Fieldwork
Our Scope
Bespoke supplied and installed stainless steel trellis cables fixed with AWG stand-offs and custom fabricated angles provided by others. Chemically and mechanically anchored eyelets were used to achieve a 100mm offset from the slab edges, allowing vertical trellis cables to run slab-to-slab within the building’s central void.
Installation involved scaffolding for internal works and a tracked scissor lift for external access.
The trellis system was installed to:
Support climbing plants internally and externally
Provide a green infrastructure solution that complements the building design
Deliver offset cable spans with precise anchoring methods
Ensure durability and minimal maintenance requirements
This project highlights Bespoke’s ability to deliver trellis systems that integrate seamlessly into multi-residential developments.
