Bespoke Wire & Rope collaborated with Fleetwood Urban, Gold Coast City Council, and AECOM to deliver a highly customised Flexi-mesh installation for the Peninsula Playground at Broadwater Parklands. With limited access, no crane support, and complex curved geometry, the project demanded precision shop drawings, on-site swaging, and tapering of panels. Bespoke’s team assisted in completing critical welding works before rolling helix ribbons into place and tensioning mesh across two planes. The result is a safe, non-climbable play enclosure that balances structural performance with design intent.

Our Scope

Bespoke designed, detailed, and installed Flexi-mesh panels for the Broadwater Parklands playground structure, overcoming unique challenges of access, lifting capacity, and curved geometry. Shop drawings were critical for accuracy, with panels site-swaged, tapered, and tensioned to fit precisely. A custom rigging system was set up to safely lift and fix panels without crane access. Bespoke also supported the builder with welding works to enable the mesh installation to proceed.

The system was installed to:

Provide a non-climbable, compliant safety barrier for the playground
Achieve complex curved detailing across two planes
Deliver a durable, low-maintenance structure in a coastal environment
Showcase collaboration between builder, supplier, and Bespoke’s installation team
