Residential Hammock Net, Collingwood

Bespoke designed, engineered, and installed a hammock net and two barrier nets for a Collingwood residence by Andrew Simpson Architects. The project required custom supporting steelwork and a collaborative approach with the builder and engineer to achieve a cost-effective solution after much of the build was already complete.

Location: Hotham Street, Collingwood VIC

Completion Date: May 2020

Architect: Andrew Simpson Architects

Builder: Camson Homes

Our Scope

Bespoke were engaged to design, engineer, supply, and install a lay-on net and two barrier nets for this residence, including the supporting steel structure in each location. Much of the build had already been completed before the nets were considered, which demanded a tailored approach to retrofit.

Our team worked closely with the builder and engineer to devise a solution that could be installed retrospectively, delivering on the design intent while staying within the client’s budget. The finished nets transformed otherwise unused voids into functional, family-friendly spaces.

The nets were installed to:

  • Provide safe barrier protection across voids

  • Create a functional hammock net for play and relaxation

  • Maximise space within the residence

  • Deliver a cost-effective solution without compromising design

This project highlights Bespoke’s ability to engineer solutions for complex retrofit conditions while maintaining architectural integrity.
