Our Scope

Bespoke installed nearly 1,200 vertical stainless steel cables forming 10 different balustrade systems across four levels of the Science Building. The process involved:

• Leading the Performance Based Design Brief and certification process in collaboration with the architect, structural engineer, builder, and fabricator

• Installing 4.0mm 1x19 G316 ‘hamma X’ wire rope with M8 swage fittings, stainless steel round bar, and cross clamps

• Developing concealed fixing details, with cables terminating into the underside of the slab above for a seamless architectural finish

• Staging the installation to coordinate with joinery works, requiring cables to be hung before final floor-level connections could be made

Following completion, Bespoke conducted monthly inspections and cable tension checks for 12 months to ensure the performance of the balustrade system as the building settled.

The system was installed to:

• Deliver a compliant and durable fall protection solution

• Maintain architectural intent with concealed fixings and clean detailing

• Ensure certification through a collaborative performance-based design process

• Provide long-term assurance through post-installation monitoring and inspections

This project highlights Bespoke’s capability to deliver large-scale, performance-certified balustrade systems in complex education builds.
