Bespoke Wire & Rope was engaged by QIC and Werribee Pacific Shopping Centre to deliver a new catenary cable system to support overhead lighting and services. The existing system was inadequate, requiring a complete redesign and engineered installation. Bespoke managed the process end to end, coordinating structural modifications and delivering a safe, durable system tailored to the shopping centre environment.

Our Scope
Bespoke designed, engineered, supplied and installed the replacement catenary system. The scope required removal of cement sheet cladding, welding new structural steel into the primary building frame, and reinstating the cladding with notched openings for cable eyelets.
Cables were manufactured on site to precise lengths, then pre-tensioned to the engineer’s requirements. All works were undertaken overnight to avoid disruption to shoppers and retail staff.
The system was installed to:
Replace an inadequate catenary system with a fully engineered design
Provide long-span support for lighting and services in a retail environment
Integrate new structural steelwork into the existing building fabric
Minimise operational impact by working outside business hours
This project demonstrates Bespoke’s expertise in engineering, fabrication, and installation under live site constraints.
