Bespoke Wire & Rope was engaged by Linct Group on behalf of Parks Victoria to design, engineer, and install retrospective balustrade infills for facilities along the 160km Grampians Peaks Trail. The system was required to ensure compliance while respecting the project’s design intent and natural surroundings.

Our Scope
Bespoke delivered custom Flexi-mesh balustrade infills across multiple overnight stay facilities, including tent pads, community shelters, and amenities blocks. Due to the remote locations, the lightweight and flexible nature of Flexi-mesh was the ideal choice, allowing materials to be carried into each site.
The project required:
Engineering a retrospective solution to bring non-compliant balustrades up to Australian Standards
Fabricating and installing laser-cut cleats, enabling bolted connections without welding (avoiding fire risk under Total Fire Ban conditions)
Using radiused holes to allow continuous 6mm perimeter cables to turn corners without point loading or shearing
Carrying specialist equipment, including a 15kg battery-powered Mag drill, into remote bush sites
Selecting black Flexi-mesh panels to provide safety while blending discreetly with the natural environment
The balustrades were installed to:
Deliver compliant fall protection for public facilities in remote national park locations
Provide lightweight, transportable materials for installation in bush conditions
Minimise visual impact while maintaining safety and functionality
Achieve a system that integrates with the architectural and environmental context
This project demonstrates Bespoke’s ability to engineer and deliver innovative fall protection systems in challenging and remote environments.
