Suspension Bridge Balustrades,
Port Campbell VIC
Bespoke Wire & Rope worked with Simpson Construction, Denton Corker Marshall, and Parks Victoria to install Flexi-mesh balustrades on the new pedestrian suspension bridge in Port Campbell. Delivered during the Covid period, the project was a welcome challenge for the Bespoke team, requiring on-site cable manufacturing and close coordination with Arcus Wire Group.
Location: Port Campbell, VIC
Completion Date: October 2020
Client: Parks Victoria / Victorian Government
Builder: Simpson Construction
Architect: Denton Corker Marshall

Our Scope
Bespoke supplied and installed approximately 160 linear metres of Flexi-mesh balustrade infills across both sides of the suspension bridge.
Working closely with Arcus Wire Group during early design stages, we coordinated connection details and manufactured all cables on site using our mobile roll swaging equipment. Each Flexi-mesh panel was field-joined to create single homogeneous panels, reducing the need for additional supporting structure.
The seamless detail delivered a clean architectural finish while providing the required fall protection for the pedestrian bridge.
The balustrades were installed to:
Deliver compliant fall protection along the entire suspension bridge
Provide a seamless, transparent barrier that reduced structural bulk
Ensure precision through on-site cable manufacturing and swaging
Maintain the architectural integrity of a high-profile public infrastructure project
Building Materials
1.5mm 40x70mm Flexi-mesh panels
Stainless steel perimeter cables manufactured on site with mobile swaging
